Vegetable fabrique
Topique-insectes is an installation designed for pollinating insects at the Domaine départemental de Chamarande (Essonne). Taking the form of an irrigation network linking a canal to a cultivated mound, it invites everyone to use their muscular energy to help develop biodiversity. Visitors are invited to pump water from the canal, stored in a tank. The water is then channeled through a bamboo pipe to a mound planted with vegetables (the three sisters: maize, squash, and beans, a Latin American association). Around this mound, a flower meadow made up of species that attract pollinating insects helps to protect the vegetable crop. This project is part of Domaine's differentiated management plan.
Dimensions: 14 x 6 x 2.50 m.
