How do you tell the story of the invisible revealed by medical imaging techniques in the hospital?
Medical imaging techniques (MRI, CT scans, etc.) reveal the invisible in the body. Tableaux Radiographiques attempts to embody this part of the imaginary, which is rarely visible in hospitals, and to restore a balance between a sensitive dimension and technical devices.
Tableaux Radiographiques are bas-reliefs based on MRI views of the brain. They tell the story of living beings oscillating between the organic and the vegetal, in the image of a phrase by Francis Hallé: "The animal? A bewildering plant, turned inside out like a glove, burying its leaves and roots in its digestive tract. The plant? A kind of fabulous animal, turned inside out, wearing its entrails as fur."
Francis Hallé, Éloge de la plante, Paris, Seuil, 1999, p. 47.
